My life is about solving the world's problems in some of the most challenging environments -- ranging from the impoverished people of the inner city to the isolated geography and marginalization of learners in rural Alaska. I have a sense of duty and inspiration, derived not only the well-known, Jonathan Kozol, Paulo Freire, John Seely Brown et al., but synthesized from the personal displays of true courage from my students who have taught and are teaching me the true meaning of life. When we give, we really do live.
I welcome others who believe that altruism always trumps egoism and want to expand their knowledge-base through a growing collegial circle and community of learners.
